Setup snag with port#
|
|
I installed MapStack on my MacBook (Intel Core2Duo, 2.16GB) and then downloaded DokuWiki. In trying to install DokuWiki I get an error on the WebServerPort window (8080 was the default Apache web server port listed) Question: What other number is relevant? How do I find what port was used in the MapStack installation? FYI: My proficiency level with the TERMINAL is limited to opening it and closing it (so appreciate very detailed instructions if working through the backend is necessary). |

Hi, Are you installing both MAMPStack and DokuWiki Stack? If that’s the case it isn’t necessary, as DokuWiki Stack already includes MAMPStack (that’s the reason the installer tells you that the port is already being used) Cheers |

Thanks! Next question then—how do I uninstall MAMPStack? |

You’re welcome :) You have an uninstaller located at the installation folder (just open it from Finder) |

Hi Antonio- |

No big deal: for each installation path there’s a file named ctlscript.sh. By typing
from the installation folder you will stop the servers, therefore being able to delete the stack without leaving any server running. Cheers |

Thanks for the quick response. your ./ctlscript.sh stop looks ominously like UNIX, a language I do not speak. If I open the terminal…. it opens in bash with |

If you didn’t change the default path, the stacks should be installed in /Applications. Look from Finder for mampstack and dokuwikistack and you willl get the names (we append the version to the name). To stop the servers, type from the Terminal
And to delete the folder
Bear into mind that this is just an example, your installation path may vary. Cheers |

I installed in the default. When I look through finder I get neither mampstack nor anything with dokuwiki or with stack. |

Stop! I don’t know what happened…. I just tried to reinstall (faith, not data-driven….) and it worked. I’m confused as to why it works now, as I hadn’t ever had a message that wasn’t “no such” , etc. Anyhoo, I’m up and running. Thanks for your help and patience! |
