What is the method to install Joomla without any dummy content or keep the content to a minimum?

Hi!,

By default joomla is installed with a default template. That template is the default in wizard installation.

I think that is the minimum content, only you have some examples, but you can delete it through administration panel.

I hope help you.
Manu.

Joomla can be installed without default content. This means starting with a blank content database.
This is available from a regular install but apparently not via bitnami module. Perhaps this could be sorted in the Very near future?

I cannot find any way to easily delete the content via the admin panel.

Hi Djinn

We have no plans for this feature but we are encouraging to develop your own modules.

Cheers

Hi Beltran,

Thanks for the quick response – I mealy meant that there is (I believe) a tick box on the std Joomla install which allows you to have no content or the dummy content. And that this choice is not available with the esteemed Bitnami module.

I realise how much time this type of alteration would take up to give that choice, especially as the developers work for nothing on the Bitnami system, but perhaps this type of choice should be included initially within all modules where necessary.

I would think that most people once they have played with and got to grips with an app, would delete and reinstall to get a fresh module with no clutter.

I know that each app would have different requirements but Is there a tutorial on how to make modules or how to install an app onto a WAMPStack ?

Thanks

Djinn

How To Remove all pre installed content from Joomla

I found this info http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=467&p=1316879

Delete all the articles.

Empty the article Trash.

Delete all the Categories.

Delete all the Sections.

Delete all menu modules except Main Menu.

Delete all links but HOME from the Main Menu.

You now have a sterile site.

HTH
