OS X - Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package.

Currently testing with the BitNami Joomla-1.5.3-1 stack on Mac OS X 10.5.3

When trying to install any pluging, template, or component, I receive the following error in Extension Manager.

Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package.

I have verified XML file is in the zip, and that it’s not a zip file containing zip. I have even unzip the extension, and rezip’d.

What I am not quite sure of if the permissions need changed on /Applications/joomla-1.5.3-1/apps/joomla/htdocs

Directories are set to 755, files are set to 644.

I have also tested creation of articles, and that works file. Problem appears to be only with the installation of additional extensions, plugins, templates.

I have not tried the Install from Directory, as it seems to never quite work right in the past.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am not be able to reproduce the problem. I have installed some modules & plugins, and they work correctly. What plugin, module or template are you trying to install?.
