Hi there,

First let me start by saying this is a great application.
I am a newbie and am having trouble restarting tracks. I followed the instructions for restarting using the ctlscript.sh but then receive this message:

chown: /Applications/tracks-1.5-1/mysql/data/mysqld.log: Operation not permitted
Starting mysqld.bin daemon with databases from /Applications/tracks-1.5-1/mysql/data
/Applications/tracks-1.5-1/mysql/scripts/ctl.sh : mysql started at port 3306
starting port 3002
  • !!! PID file tmp/pids/mongrel.3002.pid already exists. Mongrel could be running already. Check your log/mongrel.3002.log for errors.
  • !!! Exiting with error. You must stop mongrel and clear the .pid before I’ll attempt a start.

I think that i have another application conflicting with the ports required for tracks but i dont know how to solve?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

It seems that the mongrel server has not stopped correctly. Try to delete this file: /Applications/tracks-1.5.-1/tracks/tmp/pids/mongrel.3002.pid and then restart the application.

I hope it helps!

Fantastic, that solved it! Thanks for the fast response. However any idea why it might have happened in the first place?

I have got tracks restarted but, How do i reset my ports to an pre-tracks state and find an open one for tracks?

Hi,

Do you think that your rss feeds application is using the same port than tracks? Was running your rss feeds application when you installed BitNami Tracks? The installer check your free ports and it asks to you the new port if the default port is not free.

You can uninstall and reinstall to change the tracks port. If you do not want to reinstall the application you can change the “3002” port for tracks into these files:

/Applications/tracks-1.5-1/apache/conf/tracks-mongrel-cluster.conf
/Applications/tracks-1.5-1/tracks/config/mongrel_cluster.yml
