Error 2002 (HY000) MySQL socket error

Hi,

I’ve tried the Alfresco 2.1.0-3 installs for both PPC and Intel Macs (both running 10.4.11 using the respective installers for each platform. When I get to the end, I receive essentially the same error message on each (multiple attempts):

“There has been an error. Error running /Applications/alfresco-2.1.0-3/mysql/bin/mysql -h localhost -P 3306 -u root -ppassword -S …/tmp/mysql.sock -e “CREATE DATABASE alfresco_bitnami;” : ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ’../tmp/mysql.sock’ (2)
The application will exit now.

BTW, I can successfully install and start other bitnami packages on these machines (I tried Liferay on PPC and Knowledge Tree on Intel).

I am getting the same error. I did not perform the install with root privilege, and I used port 1025.
