Installation Problem-Jasper

Hi

While trying to install Jasper on my OSX-Tiger-Intel box, i get the following message….

It seems you do not have enough permissions to bind to the port or the port is taken by another application.
Please select another one.

I have installed the latest Mamp, MediaWiki and wordpress, basically using all the defaults, mysql is on port 3306

Can someone assist me?

Hi,

The Jasper Module is not available (yet) so you are installing the Stack. This stack has a MySQL database and an Apache Tomcat server which need free ports. If the mampstack is running, the MySQL default port (3306) is binded, so you should select another port (for example 3307, 3308, ...). The Jasper application will be configured using that port and you can access to all applications at the same time. If you want to use the default port, you should stop the mampstack servers and then you can run the Jasper installer.

Thanks for that, will try it, assume the same issue for apache & tomcat (apache in the stack defaults to 8080)
